Purpose

The purpose of the following specifications is to set forth the requirements of 34 treated wood poles for pole line construction and reconstruction for Sellwood Power District's electric distribution system. It is the intent of these specifications to procure treated wood poles of the best performance, reliability, and capability of remaining in service for many years without maintenance.

Standards

  • Poles shall be Coastal Douglas Fir
  • Pole dimensions shall conform to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 05.1, latest revision, for size, strength, and quality
  • All poles shall be free of loose knots

Delivery

  • Truck delivery shall be made to Sellwood Power District, 0000 Main Street, City Name, ST 00000, only during normal receiving hours, 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Unloading shall be performed only by crane or boom truck supplied by the bidder or bidder’s contract carrier

Guarantee

  • Bidder warrants that poles are free from defects or irregularities of any kind
  • Bidder agrees to repair or replace any pole for a period of six months should any pole fail in operation during normal use

Award of Bid

The award of the bid, if it is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder in each category whose bid proposal complies with all the requirements herein described.

The bid to whom the award is made must enter into a written contract on the standard form as set out herein within 15 days after the required forms are presented for signature.
